FAQ: 2016 Graduation

As graduation approaches once again, here are some of the most common questions we get.

How much does a yearbook cost?

Graduating seniors receive their yearbooks free of charge at the time and place designated by their specific school/college. If you can’t pick up your yearbook at that time call our office at 215. 204.7299 or stop by Room 243 in the Howard Gittis Student Center!

I’m graduating this spring, where can I get my yearbook?

Each school/college within Temple University orders a specific number of yearbooks. The books are then sent to each Dean’s office when the publishing company delivers the books to the University. From there, the school/college will hand out yearbooks as they see fit. Each school has its own distribution plan, so please get in touch with your prospective Dean’s office to find out how to receive yours. It is imperative that you pay attention to announcements and emails from your school/college in order to receive one!

I’m graduating in December/Summer, which yearbook do I get?

If you are graduating in December or during the summer, you should pick up the book that your senior photo was featured in. If you did not have a senior portrait taken, but still wish to get your yearbook, you may pick up the yearbook from the year that you feel most connected to through your respective school or college.

Who gets a yearbook?

Only a specified number of books are produced and ordered, so they are obtained on a first-come, first-serve basis from your respective school or college. There is no need to order or reserve a yearbook; yearbooks are automatically distributed to each school/college within the University. It is the senior’s responsibility to obtain his or her yearbook on Commencement Day from the school they graduated from.

How can I be in the yearbook?

We have photographers taking pictures at numerous events on campus and around the city. We focus on photographing our students throughout the year and make those editorial decisions just as any other media outlet. However, the best way to know that you will be in the yearbook is to have your senior portrait taken by Prestige by Lifetouch when instructions are received starting in the summer prior to your graduating year.

Note: If you have not taken your senior portrait with Prestige by December of your graduating year, you will not make the publication deadline to be in that year’s book. To contact Prestige, please call Scheduling Manager Mary Ellen Dougherty at 1-800-334-1531, ext. 2190 or email her at mdougherty@lifetouch.com.

I graduated a few years ago. Do you keep any older yearbooks, and can I pick one up?

Yes! Our archives extend back to the 1930s. If you would like to pick an older book up, please contact our editor-in-chief and inquire about picking a copy up. We do not have copies for every year and cannot guarantee that we have your specific year, but we look forward to hearing you and doing our best to accommodate your request. If you are not able to come to campus, please contact our editor to make arrangements.
